Montefiore is offering a special vaccine clinic for Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) patients and their families. Appointments are scheduled through the patients’ CHAM provider.

First Booster Dose
Adults 18 years and older are eligible to receive any of the following COVID-19 vaccine boosters:
- Pfizer/BioNTech (at least five months after the second dose)
- Moderna (at least five months after the second dose)
Children 5-17 years old are eligible to receive the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 booster at least five months after their second dose.
Second Booster Dose
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance to allow the following groups to receive a second mRNA booster dose at least four months after their first booster dose:
- People ages 50 years and older
- People ages 12 to 49 years who are moderately or severely immunocompromised
In addition, people ages 18 years and older who received a primary and booster dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine may receive one mRNA booster dose at least 4 months after their first booster dose.

When should I seek advice from my doctor?
Some higher-risk individuals should contact their doctors in advance to see if the vaccine is right for them. These groups may include:
- Patients with a history of allergic reaction caused by vaccines
- Patients who are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant
- Patients with a condition affecting their immune system
- Patients undergoing radiation therapy or taking medications that impact the immune system
Please do not schedule a vaccination or come to Montefiore for a vaccination if you:
- Are currently feeling sick
- Have had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 10 days
- Have been instructed by the New York State Department of Health to quarantine
- Have received COVID-19 monoclonal antibody treatment, COVID-19 convalescent plasma treatment or IVIG treatment within the past 90 days
- Have received any other vaccine in the past 14 days
